On Premise Digital Signage Software
How much does on-premise signage software cost (initial vs maintenance)?
Get a detailed breakdown of on-premise signage pricing and maintenance.
The cost of on-premise digital signage software depends on two main components: the server license and the screen or media player licenses.
Initial Cost:
It starts with a one-time purchase for the main server license. We host all the data, schedules, and files for this signage network on this license.
A typical on-premise signage server license costs around $1000 to $1500 USD.
Each connected screen requires a per-screen license, usually between $250 to $400 USD per screen for a lifetime license.
Example:
If you plan to deploy 10 screens:
One server license: $1000–$1500
Ten screen licenses: $250–$400 each
Total initial investment: Approximately $3500 to $5500 USD

Maintenance Cost:
Maintenance is low because the majority of on-premise licenses are perpetual. But even annual support or feature upgrades can run around 10% of the installation cost. This includes updates, security patches, and technical support.
Hardware and Hosting:
You’ll also need a local server, usually a Windows or Linux machine with ample storage (say, 512 GB or later). Hardware is a one-time investment.
In other words, on-premise signage is expensive up-front but has very little ongoing cost. No ongoing cloud fees, perfect for organizations that want to set it up once and own it all.
