What is In-Store Asia 2026?

In-Store Asia is a business-only trade fair for the people who design, fit out and merchandise retail spaces. That includes retailers, brand owners, store designers, visual merchandising teams, fixture and lighting manufacturers, and the technology vendors who supply screens and software to stores. It has run in Mumbai for well over a decade and has grown into the biggest event of its kind in the region.

The show sits inside the EuroShop family, which is the world's leading network of retail trade fairs. In practice that means In-Store Asia acts as the regional companion to EuroShop in Duesseldorf, and a lot of what you see on the floor reflects where global retail design is heading.

The exhibition is grouped into product categories. One of them, Retail Tech, is focused on retail technology, including digital signage, AV tech, retail software and CRM. A separate POP Display category covers permanent and temporary displays, kiosks, modular display systems and interactive display walls. The two-day convention and the VM&RD Retail Design Awards round out the programme.

Dates, timings and how to reach the venue

In-Store Asia 2026 takes place from Thursday 21 May to Saturday 23 May 2026 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre (BEC), NESCO Complex, Western Express Highway, Goregaon East, Mumbai 400063. The exhibition is open all three days from 9 AM to 6 PM. The convention runs on 21 and 22 May as a separate programme.

BEC is one of India's largest exhibition complexes and it is easy to reach. It is roughly 6 km from Terminal 2 of Mumbai airport, a short walk from Goregaon East metro station on Mumbai Metro Line 7, and close to Ram Mandir station on the Western Line. If you are travelling up from south Mumbai by road, give yourself about an hour during peak traffic.

What to expect on the show floor

The 2026 edition is laid out around the parts of the store that usually get budgeted separately. Here is what each area covers.

Retail design and store fit-out

  • Mock store installations and modular fixture systems from leading manufacturers

  • Retail-grade lighting, including track lighting and accent LEDs

  • Sustainable shop-fitting materials and modular display systems

Retail Tech: in-store technology and digital signage

  • Digital signage software and retail content management platforms

  • Retail software, including CRM and store design tools

  • Integrated AV technology for organised retail

POP Display

  • Permanent and temporary point-of-purchase displays

  • Modular display systems and kiosks

  • Interactive display walls and in-store branding hardware

Convention and awards

The 2026 convention runs under the theme Inspiring, Inclusive, Intelligent across 21 and 22 May, with more than 40 speakers from Indian and global retail. Confirmed names include Simon Ong, Deputy Chairman and Co-founder of Kingsmen Creatives; Ed Nelson, Creative Director at Dalziel & Pow; Sreyoshi Maitra, Executive Vice President at Kantar Group; Harshendra Maheshwari, National Head of Store Experience and Visual Merchandising at Max Fashion India; and Abijat Hukoo, Principal and Managing Director at MBH Architects. The VM&RD Retail Design Awards recognise the best Indian store design and visual merchandising work of the year.

Who should attend In-Store Asia 2026?

In-Store Asia is built for the people who actually make buying decisions for retail spaces. You will get value from the visit if your role is in any of these areas:

  • Retail CEOs, COOs, heads of stores and heads of retail operations

  • Visual merchandising managers, store design managers and in-store experience leads

  • Marketing and shopper marketing managers from FMCG, fashion, electronics and QSR brands

  • Digital signage and AV system integrators serving the retail vertical

  • Bank branch experience managers and BFSI customer experience leaders

  • Architects, interior designers and retail consultants

  • Procurement and category managers for fixtures, lighting, signage and graphics

Why In-Store Asia 2026 matters for digital signage professionals

Digital signage has become one of the faster-growing categories inside the Indian retail technology stack, and In-Store Asia is one of the few places you can evaluate it in the right context. The Retail Tech and POP Display categories put screens, kiosks and signage software in the same building as the fixtures, lighting and store layouts they will actually deploy with.

If you are scoping signage for a retail chain, that context is useful. You can compare cloud, on-premise and USB-based platforms in one walk, then see them next to the displays and shelving they need to work with. For a head start on what to evaluate, our guide to retail digital signage software and our look at retail screen use cases for 2026 are both worth reading before you walk the floor. The same thinking applies if your branches are in banking, where bank digital signage software handles queue updates and product messaging at the counter.

How to register for In-Store Asia 2026

Visitor registration is on the official website at instoreasia.in. The exhibition is open to trade professionals only, so you will need a business email and company details to register. Pre-registration is free and gets you a trade visitor badge. On-site registration is available too, but it adds time at the gate, especially on the busy first morning. The two-day convention and the awards evening are ticketed separately, so book those in advance if you plan to attend.

Travel and planning tips

Mumbai in late May is hot and humid, so plan for the weather as much as the show. A few things that help:

  • Fly into Mumbai (BOM). Both terminals are 15 to 25 minutes from the venue

  • Book hotels in Goregaon, Andheri or BKC for the shortest commute

  • Use Mumbai Metro Line 7 to Goregaon East, or the Western Line to Ram Mandir or Goregaon. Both beat a cab in peak traffic

  • Block at least a day and a half. The exhibition is larger than it looks and the convention runs alongside it

  • Pack light clothing, comfortable shoes and a reusable water bottle
